Abstract:

Basic financial principles to accumulate and build wealth are critical to success, but are rarely formally taught to the general population. In the second presentation of the financial series we will build on the basic investment knowledge established in the first presentation. The information provided will focus on what you can do with your investments, the consequences of behavioral finance, and establishing a broader financial base to invest your money wisely.

About the Speaker:

Tom Stachiw joined the Client Portfolio Management team at McLean & Partners in August, 2017. Tom works directly with clients, providing them expertise in managing and monitoring their investment portfolios to help them reach their financial goals. As a fellow young professional he is focused on helping raise the financial education of the most educated generation in history, Millennials. Tom has cut his teeth in the wealth management industry with Richardson GMP, Canada’s largest independent firm before making his way over to McLean & Partners. Tom is a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), and is working towards his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.

About the Finance Series:

This year we are trying something new and introducing a Financial Literacy Series for personal finance understanding. We have noticed this is a topic that many of our members express confusion and frustration with as it is not regularly something you encounter in your schooling.

This series will be in four parts, which will start September 28th and run once every second month of the year ending in March. Topics to be covered will include, but are not limited to, basic finance knowledge, investments, home buying and tax strategies. Speakers are local experts on the subject and will deliver an educational presentation meant to give you personal financial understanding, but not financial advice for your specific situation.
